Control Dandruff and Seborrhoeic dermatitis With Herbs

Posted by Erica on Oct 18th, 2011 in Health & Beauty | 9 comments
Styles such as braids are sometimes avoided by people with chronic scalp problems.

I’m beginning to embrace Herbalism more & more these days.Treating ailments the natural way,in my opinion, is cheaper & more accessible. Alot of people do not have health insurance or money to buy prescription medicines.Treating dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis can add up! I don’t have it personally, but I’ve heard the frustrating stories.

A person with seborrheic dermatitis.Scalp can appear ashy/dry

Seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff are very common . Winter weather  aggravates both of them! Seborrhea is unlikely to occur when sufficient B vitamins are present( B6, B12, folic acid and biotin). Tea tree oil, aloe vera, silica gel and calendula cream can be applied topically to relieve the skin.Rosemary and tea tree are very popular herb when it comes to fighting dandruff. It is used in many commercially available tonics, shampoos and lotions for scalp care, and is even included in many hair growth products. Its cheaper to buy the pills or oils from the health food store. I would just add those oils to my shampoos & conditioners. I’m sure that would be cheaper than a prescription shampoo.

Please do not POUR any oils in your shampoos/conditioners! Use the dropper. You only need a couple drops. Follow the intructions on the bottle.

I am soooo relieved to finally get some answers to this conditions especially from a site directed towards Black men and women . I have suffered for years and have offered people MANY excuses for flakes or constant scratching the scalp. Thankx for an inexpensive treatment that is easily accessable for a busy woman like me !

I recommend just the tea tree but adding the rosemary wouldn’t hurt.
